furnyaをつくる人vol.3 猫と人の暮らしを上質に表現するアートディレクション

Graphic design by furnya - Graphic designer Yutaro Sato

Furnya's products, including Cat Cellar, are created through collaboration between multiple designers. This time, we spoke with Mr. Sato, who is involved in graphic design.

-Please tell us about your daily work.

I work as a designer, mainly producing graphics for advertisements, logos, posters, etc.

-How did you come up with the furnya logo design?

When I joined this project, the product was already nearly complete, and the concept of "a place that cats will love, and interior that people will love as well" had been clearly defined.

Therefore, when we created the logo, we focused on how to express in a high-quality way the world view in which the lives of cats and people overlap.

I aimed to create a logo that depicts cats and humans living together, while also conveying a sense of elegance and style. Therefore, the typography is a combination of calligraphy, which expresses a sense of quality and suppleness, and a thin sans serif, which expresses the modernity of the product.

-What are your plans for graphic design at Furnya in the future?

I think graphic design is an essential element in determining the image and impression of a brand. Design is particularly important for furnyya compared to existing cat furniture, so we need to build a worldview in areas other than the product as well, more so than other brands. To achieve this, I think that polishing the quality of each tool, such as social media, packaging, and instruction manuals, will help create the atmosphere of the brand. I would like to continue working to build furnyya's worldview from the perspective of graphic design.
